PE AND

SPORTS FUNDING

Sport is a very important and integral part of the life of the school. This is illustrated by the scope and range of the school’s sporting related activities - and some of our recent sporting successes:

· In school we encourage the children to be as active as possible and try a variety of different sporting activities. Our hope is that every child will find a sport that they enjoy and wish to continue once they leave Crich Carr.

- Sporting activities in school include;

- Weekly sessions of PE and swimming at Alfreton leisure centre with additional provision and sessions in school.

- Morning wake up sessions at least once a week for all children.

- After school sports clubs funded by Sports Premium.

We are affiliated with the Anthony Gell Sports Partnership and the Rural Derbyshire Sports Partnership.

As part of the Partnerships, we participate and compete in many different sporting activities every year including dance, football, tag rugby, hockey, basketball, table tennis, cricket, cross country, cyclo-cross, tri-golf and athletics.

Each year school receives an allocation of funding aimed at ensuring participation in high-quality sport, with the goal that children develop active, healthy lifestyles. At Crich Carr we place a high priority on this through: high-quality PE lessons, ensuring our children become excellent swimmers, encouraging outdoor learning and offering opportunities to compete in festivals and special events. We have outlined how we will spend our allocation of funding in the document below.
